WORK & TRAVEL IN GREECE 2007-2008
This year SnegoWeek Travel Company and International Greece Company ALFAJOB separated the programme in two parts:
- Student Training Programme ( for students 18-27 years old) from Tourism Schools, Colleges, Economics schools or Sport Colleges who can do their vocational practice (intership) in Greece this year.
- Regular Placement Programme for E.U. citizens from 17 to 40 years old, who are not students but want to apply for a job in Greece. The positions for this programme as well as for the Au Pair/ Nanny Jobs are available all year round.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
Please complete the application form (on our site) of the candidate (photo including) and submit it.
Please don’t send us the applications or CVs of the candidates via fax or post!
As soon as we receive your comleted application form, we will forward it to the potential employers and inform you regularly about the success of your application.
As soon as one employer confirms us his acceptance of one job offer, we will send you the contract stating the terms and conditions of the position, as well as the details about the placement, salary, days offs etc.
Once the arrival of the chosen candidate in Greece is arranged by you, we take care of his further stay and work here.
LOCATION OF THE POSITIONS:
This year we have many job offers from our clients in Athens, as well as on the many Greek islands : CRETE, KOS, MYKONOS, ZAKYNTHOS, CORFU, NAXOS, etc.
LENGTH OF TRAINING CONTRACTS:
Usually here in Greece the season starts in April and lasts till the end of October.
We are making the contracts from minimum 3 months to maximum 7 months time for hotel industry positions.
STUDENT SALARY:
The guaranteed minimum salary is:
400 -500 EURO per month for positions as help bartenders/barwomen, help waitresses/ waiters, chambermaids, cleaners, gardeners, kitchen help etc.
500-600 EURO per month for reception, animators, cook help etc.
600-1000 EURO per month for qualified cooks, chefs etc.
The salary depends on a job position, qualifications and special skills of the candidates + TIPS, which during HIGH season might reach more then the salary!
WORKING HOURS AND DAYS OFF:
Usually there are 8 hours work per day, 6 days a week and one day off.
However, there is usually NO DAY OFF during the HIGH season except for the Student Training Programme where this is arranged in advance.
FOOD AND ACCOMMODATION:
Every employer provides the food and accommodation for FREE!
There are 2-3 meals per day provided in the Hotel Restaurant or the Staff Canteen.
The accommodation is shared double or triple room + WC + shower.
These information will be well known to every applicant before he accepts the position.
TRAVEL EXPENSES:
This is a matter of discussion with the schools and the students. If the students agree that the employer pays for their tickets (both ways plane tickets), this sum will be deducted from their first salary or the amount of the HALF ticket.
INSURANCE:
It is good for the students to arrange the health insurance in their country. However, the employer is obliged to pay basic student insurance if any accident happens on the working place.
VISAS AND WORKING LICENSE:
The E.U. citizents do not need to obtain any visa for the Student Training Programme in Greece.
Other countries will get Student Internship Visa.

* Our companies will mediate between the employers and the students if any problem occurs.
